With wildfires burning and the Halifax Regional Municipality in a in state of emergency, there has been questions around the availability of hotel rooms for displaced families.
We want to ensure that residents impacted by evacuation orders know that as of today, June 1, there are hotel rooms available in HRM this weekend, and into early next week. The hotel community has been working to support evacuees, and many are offering special rates or deals on available rooms. However, this information is often not visible on travel websites, such as Expedia or Travelocity.
