The tourism industry has a complex supply chain that involves multiple sectors and stakeholders. The Halifax Regional Integrated Tourism Master Plan helps unify our efforts to ensure we're all working together towards common goals and objectives through the collective impact model.

While the ITMP 2030 Full Report details our plans for manageable and sustainable tourism growth, the ITMP 2030 Dashboard documents progress of all initiatives listed in the plan. These initiatives have multiple leads, partners, and potential partners and each project is at a different stage of development.

The Dashboard will help track projects and celebrate successes as the community continues to maximize the benefits of tourism.

How are initiatives managed?

Monitoring & Evaluation

Discover Halifax regularly monitors and updates the initiatives within Halifax's ITMP 2030, and the graph below indicates the stage-gate for all 27 initiatives. As a collaborative project involving many partners and stakeholders, Discover Halifax also encourages their feedback and updates to keep the information current.

● Explore & Define

This is where the purpose of the project becomes clear, and the lead organization has approved it to go forward. A project moves to the next stage when the foundation is in place, there’s a well-defined idea that’s ready for planning.

● Planning

A full plan is created and mapped, including timelines, tasks, and responsibilities. A lead is identified, and the other people and resources are lined up. A project moves to the next stage when the plan is clear, realistic, and ready to guide the work.

● Delivery

This is when the project is carried out and the key deliverables are bring worked on and achieved. A project moves to the next stage when the project work and tactics are complete.

● Completion

The project has been delivered or completed, and at this stage, any results or lessons learned are gathered.
