Discover Halifax respects our place on the ocean. We respect our past and those before us. We respect our differences and similarities. We are open and truly believe we all win when we embrace shared values and prioritize community benefits, sustainability, and diversity.

Community Support

Discover Halifax takes a community-first approach in everything we do. We understand that if you make a destination a great place to live, it will also be a great place to visit.

Our team works and lives in communities throughout the Halifax region. We are invested in giving back to our community, promoting local businesses, and being exceptional hosts to everyone.

Team Volunteers Ronald Mc D House 2019
In 2019, Discover Halifax was proud to volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House which does important work helping families with sick children stay together near the medical care they need. (https://rmhcatlantic.ca/).

Environmental Stewardship

Halifax is a city on the edge of nature. As a destination, Halifax has that perfect balance between urban and rural experiences, and the balance must be protected through responsible environmental stewardship.

Discover Halifax has made this a focus through the Integrated Tourism Master Plan, with the goal of being a leading destination in responsible tourism.

Diversity & Inclusion

Discover Halifax embraces the very thing that makes Halifax, as a destination, special: the people. We appreciate diversity of thought, background and expression.

As an equal opportunity employer, employment decisions are based on merit and business needs, and not on race, colour, national origin, ethnic origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, religion, creed, physical or mental disability, veteran status, political affiliation or any other factor protected by law.
