Open call for interested members to serve on our Board of Directors
Discover Halifax is updating our register of individuals interested in serving our Board of Directors. Submitting a nomination package helps ensure we have a strong pool of qualified candidates for any future opportunities.
We are looking for skilled and qualified candidates who are part of the leadership team within their organization, and who understand the destination and the tourism industry, for our Board of Directors. Previous volunteer or Board experience is considered an asset.
In particular:
- Individuals with expertise in finance, ideally with a financial qualification, though this is not required;
- Those with demonstrated travel trade experience; and
- Business owners or C-suite leaders who may wish to serve on the Executive Committee, or be considered as part of succession planning for the position of Board Chair.
To support strong corporate governance and community representation, consideration will be given to candidates whose skills align with these needs, and to those who help ensure geographic representation from across Halifax Regional Municipality.
Submitting your name for future consideration on our Board of Directors helps ensure a strong pool of candidates, however, new appointments may not be made immediately.
