January 27, 2021 - Halifax, Nova Scotia: Starting Monday, February 1, the annual Dine Around campaign will kick-off, supporting restaurants from across the Halifax region and the rest of Nova Scotia. Foodies are invited to safely dine-in or order takeout from more than 80 restaurants from February 1-28, 2021. Each participating restaurant is offering a specially-priced, curated menu with some also donating a portion of your purchase to Feed Nova Scotia.

This year, for the first-time ever, most restaurants are offering takeout and/or delivery options. This will allow foodies to enjoy special Dine Around menu items in the way they are most comfortable. Foodies can easily filter menus by “dine in”, “take-out” and/or “delivery” on the dinearoundhfx.com website, including a handful of restaurants located in other parts of the province outside the Halifax Regional Municipality.

“We are thrilled to be able to bring back Dine Around with some essential updates in order to continue to support restaurants safely and offer an amazing event for locals,” said Erica Pellerin, VP Marketing & Communications, Discover Halifax. “In addition to marketing Dine Around menus, we are launching a social media initiative called Show Our Restaurants Some Love.”

Show Our Restaurants Some Love aims to show just how important the restaurant industry is to our economy. Nova Scotians have been showing their support for their favourite places to eat over the past several months despite it being difficult times. The business owners appreciate the support, and they still need it now more than ever:

  • There are over 1,700 restaurants in Nova Scotia
  • 63% of Nova Scotia restaurants are family owned
  • 30,100 Nova Scotians are employed by restaurants
  • Our restaurants support local farmers, fishers, growers, and more

The team has developed graphics that encourage and highlight some simple actions people can take, including the goal to dine out once a week in the month of February. The posts also include ways to support restaurants at no cost like sharing posts on social media.

Diners can enjoy and experience Dine Around’s specially-priced meals for lunch or dinner at $10, $20, $30, $40, and $50. Additionally, more than twelve hotels in the Halifax region are offering Dine & Stay packages throughout the month of February, so guests can plan a winter staycation.

Dine Around is an important event for foodies and restaurants,” said Gordon Stewart, Executive Director Restaurant Association of Nova Scotia (RANS). “Each year the event continues to gain popularity amongst restaurants and event-goers. We just ask that all precautions are met and that attendees adhere to Nova Scotia guidelines when attending the event.”

The Dine Around campaign was first launched by RANS in 2003. Discover Halifax came on as a marketing partner in 2018. Since then, restaurant participation has doubled. To find a complete list of participating restaurants and hotels for 2021 visit dinearoundhfx.com.
