More than two years in, the ITMP continues to provide a vision for tourism in Halifax.
There has been much accomplished since the Halifax Regional Integrated Tourism Master Plan (ITMP) was approved and adopted by HRM in 2021, and it continues to help drive and prioritize efforts and investments that will lead to sustainable economic growth from our tourism economy.
This report includes a dashboard that tracks progress of the 28 priority initiatives, supporting six strategic themes, and a selection of success stories of noteworthy projects showing momentum.
No single organization can achieve this plan on its own, and Discover Halifax is fortunate and proud to have many incredible partners leading and contributing to ITMP projects and committed to making Halifax a better place to live, work and visit. We especially wish to acknowledge ITMP funding partners: Halifax Regional Municipality, Province of Nova Scotia, and Atlantic Canada Opportunity Agencies (ACOA). Their collective support has truly brought this vision to life.
Looking ahead, we are optimistic about the future of the tourism industry in HRM. While challenges remain, we are confident in our ability to continue our smart, sustainable growth.
