Atlantic Canadians love to shop in Halifax.

Discover Halifax has launched a new marketing campaign to remind Atlantic Canadians of one of the many reasons they love to visit Halifax – the fantastic shopping.

Stores across the Halifax region carry everything from unique artisan products to gourmet goods, books, tech, and much more. Whether you’re looking for brand names or boutique wares, it’s easy to see why Halifax is known as the shopping capital of Atlantic Canada.

“Research has shown that when Atlantic Canadians think of Halifax, they often think of the extensive shopping offerings,” says Holly Chessman, Director, Marketing and Member Services. “With this campaign, we want to encourage people to not only come for the shopping trip, but stay and take in some of the other amazing elements Halifax has to offer.”

From dining to entertainment, from attractions to health and wellness, Halifax’s hospitality offerings are many and there’s lots to do in the region when your shopping day is over.

Through shared funding with Tourism Nova Scotia’s Digital Content Marketing Program, Discover Halifax worked with M5 to create a campaign that includes TV, social and digital video, and display. Through the campaign, Discover Halifax will reach the 18+ audience and drive them to a new shopping landing page for details, deals, and more.

From the commencement of the campaign on November 14th until the end of January, visitors to the site will be provided the information they require for planning a shopping visit, including inspiration from over a hundred shops, shopping districts, and shopping centres, and deals from fifteen hotels during this slower tourism period.
