This year marked the 19th year for the annual foodie event with 96 restaurants offering curated menus at special prices.
Another delicious February has wrapped up in Halifax. Dine Around, the annual foodie event, marked its 19th year with 96 participating restaurants offering curated menus at special prices and 16 hotels that joined the Dine & Stay portion of the event.
Dine Around is a collaboration between the Restaurant Association of Nova Scotia (RANS) and Discover Halifax. The event showcases Halifax's unique culinary scene and helps support many wonderful local restaurants.
Delicious results
As the marketing partner for Dine Around, Discover Halifax annually supports the media campaign to help advertise and promote the foodie event. This year, we worked with m5 Marketing and Communications for the paid portion of the campaign.
While Dine Around has been extended until March, the paid media portion of the campaign wrapped up on February 26. And this year's results were impressive. Most importantly, the campaign helped bring business to participating local restaurants.
Dine Around campaign highlights:
- 8.6 million impressions and over 400,000 engagements across Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and display advertising
- The Dine Around webpage generated 420,000 pageviews with users spending an average session duration of 3.5 minutes
- Anew tactic helped quantify customers who viewed online ads; results show 14,000 people visited a participating restaurant after seeing a Dine Around ad
"The most successful Dine Around in recent history."
Jennie Dobbs, the owner/manager of Morris East, has been participating in Dine Around for 10 years. And she says this year was a highlight.
"I look forward to Dine Around every year. This year has absolutely been the most successful Dine Around in recent history for us," says Dobbs. "It's a great way to encourage people to visit restaurants during a month that is typically slow."
Dobbs' experience aligns with the spirit of Dine Around. Especially during the restaurant industry's challenges over the last two years.
"This event is critical in supporting restaurants and providing an opportunity for them to show off their best food dishes and rekindle consumer confidence in dining out," said Gordon Stewart, executive director, Restaurant Association of Nova Scotia, when Dine Around launched earlier this year. "The restaurant sector has an enormous impact on people's spirit—encouraging time to relax, eat, drink, and enjoy the company of friends, family, and colleagues."
March just got tastier
If you have not had the chance to visit one of the participating restaurants, you still have time! Select participants have decided to extend their Dine Around offers through March. Visit our site to see the list of participating restaurants.
