'Take a Haliday' encouraged Maritime travellers to visit Halifax for an exciting staycation or nearcation, and enjoy a change of scenery.

In early summer 2021, the ‘Take a Haliday’ campaign was launched through a partnership between Discover Halifax and the Hotel Association of Nova Scotia. The six-week campaign aimed to get potential Maritime travellers from Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and PEI excited about planning a staycation or nearcation in Halifax.

Participating hotels in the region created unique, specific offerings to encourage travellers to visit Halifax and help bolster the visitor economy.

The campaign offered a mix of awareness and engagement tactics with digital display and social media ads featuring campaign message targeting couples and families. The campaign ultimately reached hundreds of thousands of potential Maritime travellers.
