Discover Halifax is pleased to announce Jeff Nearing as the new Vice President, Sales.

February 19, 2019 – Discover Halifax is pleased to announce Jeff Nearing as the new Vice President, Sales. Jeff brings over 20 years of general management and sales leadership experience to the Discover Halifax team, including over 15 years in senior leadership roles in the publishing and media industry.

“With extensive experience leading a number of sales and client service teams, in addition to his experience building trusted relationships with a diverse mix of clients and stakeholder groups, Jeff will be a valuable addition to the team,” said Ross Jefferson, President & CEO, Discover Halifax. “I look forward to working with Jeff on our goal to have Halifax globally recognized as the favorite city in Canada.”

Prior to his role as Vice President of Partner Solutions with the Chronicle Herald, Canada’s largest independently owned newspaper, Jeff held senior leadership roles in the publishing industry including General Manager at TC Media and Partner with Holiday Media Incorporated (a company which develops media products shared worldwide in the Travel and Leisure Industry). Jeff holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Saint Mary’s University and has volunteered with many organizations through the Halifax region.

Reporting directly to the President & CEO, the Vice President of Sales will be responsible for ensuring that Halifax is the destination of choice for Meetings and Conventions, Group Travel and the Travel Trade Industry. This is part of the long-term strategy aimed at bringing attention to the significant economic impact and opportunities created by tourism in the Halifax region.
