Bundle up as Evergreen Festival kicks off once again in Halifax

HALIFAX, NS – Bundle up and head outside to take part in the Evergreen Festival, a free, four-week outdoor winter-themed showcase of Nova Scotian culture, food, spirits, art, and celebration of the holiday season, as it returns in 2022.
With live music, local shopping, and light displays, the Evergreen Festival rings in the holiday season while highlighting features that make Nova Scotia special all year round.
Kicking off for the first weekend of events on Friday, November 25, the Evergreen Festival will run until Sunday, December 18, and includes a few showcase experiences:
- Evergreen Bright features light installations throughout downtown Halifax that people of all ages can enjoy and explore; and
- At the Village on the Halifax waterfront, you’ll find Evergreen Market filled with local vendors and makers, as well as Evergreen Stage Series, arranged by the team that brings you Halifax Jazz Festival which will feature over 40 live performances.
If you’re looking for family-friendly activities at the Village, there’s more of that too:
- Grab a hot chocolate from the Cocoa Trail to keep your hands warm while you watch your kids find their way through the maze of lights;
- Check out some of your favourite holiday classics that will be showing Saturday evenings; and
- On Sunday afternoons, come by to see and interact with some furry friends, courtesy of Hope for Wildlife.

The Evergreen Festival receives private-sector support for charitable installations and activations. A collaborative effort between organizations in the region, the primary partners behind Evergreen Festival are Develop Nova Scotia, Discover Halifax, Jazz East Rising, and Halifax Regional Municipality.
