With more features than ever before, the new edition is a must-read for visitors and locals

Just in time for those thinking about a visit to the Halifax Regional Municipality, we’re pleased to share the latest tool to get to level up your planning – the 2026 Official Visitor Guide.

Showcasing over 280 member businesses and 35 events, the Visitor Guide is produced in-house by the Discover Halifax team, with contributions from local artists and knowledgeable writers. Featuring informative stories, curated content, and creative experiences, the 2026 Visitor Guide is a comprehensive resource designed to help you go from considering Halifax to booking that trip.

While much of the guide’s core content returns each year, including maps, transit information, regional descriptions, and the top 10 reasons to visit Halifax, the 2026 edition also features several new additions, including:

  • Accessible adventures with guest writer, RJ Roggeveen, highlighting wheelchair-friendly activities;
  • Rural festivals worth the drive, encouraging visitors to explore communities across the municipality;
  • Inside the Halifax Mural Fest, where streets transform into vibrant open-air galleries;
  • Black-owned businesses, with guest writer René Boudreau, showcasing Halifax through a local lens;
  • Halifax’s culinary scene, from iconic Atlantic Canadian dishes to the culinary talent shaping food culture;
  • Exploring Halifax’s great outdoors, from kayaking and surfing to hiking, birding, and fishing across the region; and
  • Major sporting events and competitions taking place throughout the year.

Bookmark this page on your mobile device for inspiration all year long.

The Official Visitor Guide is provided at no cost, and is partially funded by member advertising and in partnership with organizations throughout the municipality, including business improvement districts.

Copies will be distributed across HRM hotels, attractions, and Discover Halifax member businesses. Individual and bulk orders of the Official Visitor Guide, and the Halifax Kids’ Guide, can also be made here.
