The CSAE conference will welcome more than 500 people to Halifax in October 2022.

When CSAE (Canadian Society of Association Executives) hosts its first in-person conference since 2019, Halifax will be the welcoming host. Our oceanfront city with its open, walkable spaces is the perfect fit to bring people back together again. Halifax was named the host city during the closing remarks at the 2021 conference held virtually this week.

“After a long wait to gather in person, nothing elicits more excitement for CSAE than our conference in Halifax next fall. Our members and business partners from across Canada will come together to reconnect and enrich their knowledge, says Tracy Folkes Hanson, CAE – president & CEO.

“More than that, we will celebrate being together again for the association event of the year—with all of the fun and camaraderie that goes along with it. Halifax is the perfect place for this reunion, with its welcoming nature and vibrant hospitality.”

The conference takes place October 19-21, 2022 at the Halifax Convention Centre. Approximately 500 participants will attend; they will account for nearly 1200 overnight hotel stays. Direct spending resulting from the event is projected to be more than $660,000, which is infused back into the local economy.

“We’re thrilled to host CSAE next fall and welcome delegates to the region. The city has experienced incredible growth since we lasted hosted CSAE,” says Jeff Nearing, VP, Sales, Discover Halifax. “Halifax has brand new state-of-the-art amenities, expansive outdoor spaces, unique experiences, and a vibrancy that we love to share with our guests.”

Discover Halifax, a non-profit destination marketing organization, worked with the Halifax Convention Centre and Meeting & Convention partners across the city on the proposal to bring the conference to Halifax in 2022.
