FEBRUARY IS FOR FOODIES: DINE AROUND 2020 HITS HALIFAX STARTING TOMORROW

January 31, 2020 – Halifax, Nova Scotia: Throughout the month of February, Halifax is celebrating its diverse and incredible culinary culture. Foodies are invited to visit more than 70 restaurants across the city as part of Dine Around which runs from February 1-29, 2020. Each participating restaurant is offering a specially priced curated menu with some also making a donation to Feed Nova Scotia.

“Participation in Dine Around has more than doubled since 2018, and we’re incredibly excited with the interest and growth in recent years” says Erica Pellerin, vice president, marketing and visitor experience with Discover Halifax, the region’s not-for-profit destination marketing organization. “With a record number of restaurants participating this year, Dine Around spotlights Halifax as one of Canada’s premier food and drink destinations.”

Diners can explore different parts of Halifax and restaurants to sample appetizers, drinks, or specially priced meals for $10, $20, $30, $40 and $50. Both lunch and the $10 menu option are new offerings this year. Plus, five hotels are offering reduced rates throughout the campaign, so diners can plan a February getaway and explore different restaurants and areas of the city they might not have otherwise.

The Dine Around campaign was first launched by the Restaurant Association of Nova Scotia (RANS). It started as part of the Savour Food & Wine festival which is now in its 17th year. The highly anticipated Savour Food & Wine show will take place February 20, 2020 and showcases over 70 of Nova Scotia’s finest restaurants, wines and beverages at the state-of-the-art Halifax Convention Centre.

“February is an exciting month for foodies living in and visiting Halifax, says Gordon Stewart, executive director with RANS. “The Savour Food & Wine festival has multiple events, all showcasing the best of our culinary and beverage industry. You can come out, enjoy the evening’s event and fuel up for the winter season.”

RANS partners with Discover Halifax to promote Dine Around and encourages locals and visitors alike to explore the best dining in Halifax. Special food events will also be taking place throughout the month, including:

Imbibe: A Cocktail Event, February 6th
Craft Beer Cottage Party, February 8th
Savour Food & Wine show, February 20th
Rare & Fine Wine, February 28th
