Discover Halifax extends our sincere thanks to everyone who participated in the consultation and discovery phases of the Integrated Tourism Master Plan (ITMP) 2030. Your insights, experiences, and feedback have been invaluable in shaping the future of tourism in our region.
Through a comprehensive engagement process—including eight regional sessions, workshops with key stakeholder groups, one-on-one interviews with tourism professionals, and an online survey—we gathered important perspectives on opportunities, challenges, and priorities for the industry.
Some highlights from the engagement activities:
- 350 individual contributors engaged through our online platform, including 256 quick poll responses, 181 survey responses, and 51 comments on the social map.
- Approximately 125 stakeholders participated in discovery-phase group sessions and interviews.
- Over 125 community members attended a regional engagement session.
- More than 70 industry professionals took part in validation sessions.
With these insights, our consultant team created a What We Heard Report, a reflection of all partner and stakeholder voices. The report is a road-map for future tourism investment and collaboration, and it reflects what we heard during consultations. Click here to read the report.
We're currently working on the next steps, and prioritizing initiatives that will shape the final ITMP 2030.
