This is where the purpose of the project becomes clear, and the lead organization has approved it to go forward. A project moves to the next stage when the foundation is in place, there’s a well-defined idea that’s ready for planning.

Overview

Strategic upgrades to pools, field houses, and multisport complexes will boost our hosting capability and community access. Aging facilities are limited to host competitions due to their size, but modern facilities could meet national standards. These investments would serve athletes and residents, positioning Halifax as a leader in sport tourism and ensuring long-term community benefits. While not all venues need to be updated at once, as replacements and updates are completed, the evaluation of requirements in these facilitates should also consider how they may create wealth for the community, by ensuring they meet technical requirements for major competitions.
