Overview

Enhancing Georges Island will increase cultural tourism value and the potential as a venue for events. Since opening to the public in 2020, the Georges Island National Historic Site has attracted strong interest and good visitation levels. With the increased access, there is growing interest in exploring how the island might further support opportunities for public appreciation, storytelling, and cultural connection, while remaining true to its historical and ecological integrity.
