 Explore & Define

This is where the purpose of the project becomes clear, and the lead organization has approved it to go forward. A project moves to the next stage when the foundation is in place, there’s a well-defined idea that’s ready for planning.

Overview

Sustainable development of the ecologically rich Wild Islands will create a nature-based tourism asset, guided by conservation and community priorities. Just an hour from downtown Halifax, the pristine archipelago offers unique opportunities, and exceptional potential. Carefully managed infrastructure and local partnerships can foster small-business growth while positioning HRM as a leader in responsible nature-based tourism, expanding visitation to the Eastern Shore.
